We welcome Thomas Foods International for the second year in a row as the naming rights sponsor for the South Australian State Championships.

Established in 1988 in South Australia, Thomas Foods International (TFI) has grown to become the largest 100% Australian privately owned meat processing company.

TFI delivers a range of high quality meats and fresh produce to an increasing number of consumers across the world.   TFI processes on average 120,000 sheep, goats and lambs per week and 5000 cattle across the group for national markets and 85 overseas destinations.  The company is also growing its fresh produce range which includes potatoes and red and brown onions with expectations of adding more in the future.

 TFI employs approximately 3000 staff across the group, which also has processing and distribution facilities across Australia and overseas.  However despite its growth, the company remains committed to its family heritage and values under the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer Darren Thomas.

In line with this strategy, TFI recently signed an exclusive licensing deal to grow the national and international market for Angus beef. From August 1, 2015 the brands CAAB (Certified Australian Angus Beef – grain fed) and Angus Pure grass-fed beef will be produced under exclusive license to TFI.

The company is also boosting its processing capacity as demand grows for high quality Australian meat in the United States, Europe and Asia by investing heavily in its state-of-the-art facilities.

 TFI sources its lamb, mutton, beef and goat from farms across Australia. The product is processed and packaged at facilities in South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland with distribution hubs located at Adelaide, Coffs Harbour, Brisbane, Darwin and in the United States.

 TFI is also having strong success with its own global consumer brand, Thomas Farms. Launched two years ago, the Thomas Farms consumer brand is finding its way into a growing number of Australian retailers where shoppers can select from a premium range of meat products and fresh produce.

 Through various ongoing environmental initiatives, TFI is not only significantly reducing its carbon footprint but also leading the industry in sustainable practices.

 Continual investment in a range of initiatives spanning wastewater treatment, natural gas reduction and biogas energy optimisation support this commitment.
